Margherita EmmaTurvani

Margherita EmmaTurvani is Associate Professor of Political Economy in the University  IUAV of  Venice, Department of Planning  & Design in Complex Systems.  Previously she has been researcher in the  University of Urbino, School of Economics, and University of Torino, Department of Economics. At IUAV, she has been teaching regional economics and policy, and environmental economics, and she coordinates the Research Unit ‘Territory,Economy,Sustainable Development,T.E.S.S.’  She has been responsible for a number of national and international research collaboration and programs (C.O.R.I.L.A;  PRIN-MIUR;  J.R.C. Ispra; European Science Foundation). She is a member of the Council of the PhD program in ‘Planning and public policies for the territory’, within the IUAV PhD School. On behalf of IUAV, she seats in the Board of Directors of Venice International University, and in the Board of  Consorzio Venezia Ricerche, and  she is a member of the scientific committee of  C.U.O.A.
She has been Vice-Director of the PhD Program ‘Analysis and Governance of Sustainable Development’,  School  for Advanced Studies in Venice, and  a member of  the Venice Sustainability Advisory Panel, Institute for Sustainable Solution, University of California, San Diego. Since 2003, she has been collaborating with T.E.N. Center, at Venice International University,  for the Sino-Italian Program for the Cooperation and the Promotion of  Sustainable Development in China. At  Venice International  University she also teaches in the  the School of Social Science and Humanities.
Main research interests are in Sustainabilty & Economics, focusing on Land  and  Urban Sustainability;  in the past she contributed to several research areas such as Labor Market Studies, New Institutional Economics, Economics of Innovation & Industrial Organization.
