In response to this cooperation agreement, the Key Laboratory of Cities’ Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change in Shanghai (hereinafter referred to as the “laboratory”) was jointly built by Tongji University and Shanghai Meteorological Administration in October 2015. In the aim of improving the service level of meteorological work for sustainable economic and social development, further promote the construction of relevant disciplines of Tongji University and promote the common development of the two sides under the new situation, China Meteorological Administration and Tongji University formally signed a cooperation agreement at the end of 2011. The agreement requires to, on the basis of present cooperation between two parties, establish a formal co-operational relationship, give full play to their respective advantages, expand the scope of cooperation to an all-round level, promote the education system reform and discipline construction of Tongji University and promote the long-term development of China’s meteorological industry.
In 2023, 7 Laboratory Open Project Funds have been set up. Opening up and cooperating with other units, universities, and research institutes, jointly carry out discipline construction and talent training.
