Recently, the first master's degree students, in UNEP-Tongji University Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development, had completed the defense and then graduated. On July 15th, the first master defense meeting of Environment and Sustainable Development Institute was hold in Mingjing Building of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering. Three foreign students, who had completed two-year study in China and overseas, participated in a half-day defense after finishing their thesis. They will be given a joint graduation certification by UNEP and Tongji University.
Khanda, from Mongolia, her thesis title is "A Study of Environmental indicators System in Mongolia", which discussed the issue of environmental indicator system. Peniamina D. Leavai, from Samoa, wrote a thesis named "Strengthening of Environment Rights of Women as an Adaptaion Approach to climate Change in Pacific", which had combined with the practical situation in South Pacific area and proposed relevant solutions. Serdar Eyeberenov, from Turkmenistan, chose his thesis as "Study of approach to prevent transboundary water disputes in Central Asia", which had brought forward a feasible method for water resource disputes.
Now, these three foreign students had passed the defense and gone back to their countries.
