2009 Fulbright-Hays Delegations visted Tongji University on July 22, 2009. The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program on Chinese History and Culture was organized by National Committee on United States-China Relations and China Education Association for International Exchange. The aim of the program is to examines the country’s fascinating past, complex present, and future challenges.
The delegation consists of teachers from 18 universities in the United States. Firstly, they visited Tongji University History Museum, pilot facilities of energy saving and bath water reuse center in Siping campus, touched the longest total solar eclipse during the 21st century. Then a seminar was hosted by vice dean, Prof. Fengting Li on water resource management, rehabilitation of SuZhou Creek, solid waste management, etc. In the afternoon, they visited the demonstration place for SuZhou Creek rehabilitation, “Mengqing Museum”.
