2009 Asia-Pacific LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME on Environment for Sustainable Developmen...

         The Asia-Pacific Leadership Programme on Environment for Sustainable Development aims to improve the all-round thinking and decision-making abilities of the young and emerging leaders in government organizations, NGOs, and private enterprises in the Asia-Pacific Region, to direct them take the balance between environment and sustainable development into account in decision making, and to foster their insights so as to be able to coordinate factors of human, environment and sustainable development in dealing with complex practical problems.
        The Asia-Pacific Leadership Programme has been held 5 times from 2004 to 2008, in which more than 160 participants got benefits from the Programme and put into practice successfully. The Programme has had a great influence in Asia-Pacific area. In 2009, the 6th programme with the theme of “City and Sustainable Development” will be held in Tongji University from 16th to 21st in November, and some 30 emerging leaders from countries all over the Asia-Pacific region will participate in the Programme.
        This leadership programme can accept supplemental materials of any kind via e-mail. Please carefully follow the application instructions.

Letter of recommendation: Letter of reference should be from either an academic or professional referee who can detail your strengths and experience in relation to Asia-Pacific Leadership Programme on Environment for Sustainable Development. It is preferred that the letter be on professional letterhead with an autograph of the referee.

        Decision notifications are usually mailed within two weeks after the deadline. Successful applicants will be notified in 8th October, 2009 via email and the list of selected participants will be announced on this website. Please understand that as the deadline approaches. We highly recommend that you submit all of your materials well in advance of the deadline to avoid delays.
        This programme will cover your fee including your international travel, accommodation and training from Nov. 15th to 22nd. The participants from developed countries are also welcomed, and the training fee is US$1000 dollars.
