2009 Bayer-Tongji-UNEP Sustainable Development Forum - Facing the Changing Clima...

Tongji University, Bayer Group and UNEP will jointly hold the "2009 Bayer-Tongji-UNEP Sustainable Development Forum - Facing the Changing Climate”. We are cordially inviting you as one of our distinguished guests to participate the forum.

This year’s event is the debut of the forum under the three way partnership of Bayer, Tongji and UNEP, who jointly established “Bayer-Tongji Chair for Sustainable Development” at the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IESD) of Tongji University in 2007. 

 

Focusing on climate change, the forum is planned as an international platform for fresh ideas and experiences sharing by the senior practitioners from various social sectors.

 

The forum starts in the morning with a keynote speech and a panel discussion on a comparative study of China and APAC cities’ strategies of mitigating and adapting the impact of the climate change.  The forum also discusses the policies and governmental decisions in climate and environmental protection related issues on a municipal level, involving senior government officers from the Yangtze Delta region.

 

Participated by senior representatives from Bayer MaterialScience, Tongji College of Architecture and Urban planning, the first panel session in the afternoon shares the latest technologies and solutions on “Green Building”. It is then followed by another panel involving public media and individuals to engage in a dialogue about the role the public can play in combating the climate change. Q&A is arranged after every panel.
