A 30-member delegation from Nanyang Technological University (abbreviated NTU) visited the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of Tongji University on December 17, 2009. NTU delegation was led by Prof.Chiew Sing Ping (the Chair of the Civil and Environmental Engineering college) and Prof.Edmond Lo Yat-Man, including 28 students from School of Civil and Environment.
Firstly, the delegation visited the Galley of Tongji University to understand the history of Tongji University. Secondly, the delegation visited the water reuse system of the bathroom, which was one of the engineering practices that demonstrate Tongji’s culture--- energy conservation on campus.
Then the delegation visited the College of Environmental of Science and Engineering. Dr. Wang introduced the college and the principle of the wastewater reuse system---the newly membrane bioreactor (MBR) combined process. Eight undergraduates majoring in Environmental Engineering of Tongji had a very warm discussion with the delegation.
Nanyang Technological University is a research-intensive university, among the world's top 50 universities. NTU has established the contacts network with more than 300 university institutions worldwide. Tong also is a top university in China. The NTU delegation visit will promote further exchanges and collaboration.
