On Oct.7th, 2010, the final seminar of the project ARCUS (2007-2010) Languedoc-Roussillon/ China was held at the Auditorium of French Pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai. And the workshop of ARCUS Partners was held on Oct. 8th, 2010 in Tongji University.
The partners presented in this seminar include the representatives from Science Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Tongji University, Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Shanghai University, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics and CIRAD, etc.
The seminar is themed as “Ecology and Sustainable Development”, and aims to summarize the Sino-French scientific and cooperative achievements since the project ARCUS was launched in 2006. The seminar consists of 4 sub-themes, namely “Sustainable water management”, “Energy and waste”, “Ecology and eco-agriculture”, and “Transversal actions”.
Prof. ZHOU Qi, Dean of College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University, and Prof. LI Fengting, Vice Dean of College of Environmental Science and Engineering, and UNEP-Tongji IESD, and other experts from Tongji attended this seminar. Prof. LI Fengting chaired the opening ceremony of the ARCUS Seminar.
Mr. Rodolphe Richard, Vice Consul of Consulate General of France, delivered the speeches in both opening and closing ceremony. He highly evaluated the Sino-French achievements that ARCUS Project gained since 2006 and expected more cooperation between China and France in the field of education, research, technology and etc.
