Prof. Klaus Toepfer, former Executive Director of United Nations Environment Programme visited UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development (IESD), and gave a lecture on Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy on 8th November, 2010. The excellent lecture gave our students more ideas about the relationship between environment, human activities and economy development.

The lecture was focused on sustainable development issues, and students were encouraged to discuss the relationship between environment protection and development from the view of economics, environment and sociology. Professor Toepfer also answered some students’ question about global actions to deal with climate change. All the students had a pleasure to take a photo with Prof. Toepfer at the end of the lecture.
