Global Youth Declaration Released on the Closing Ceremony of International Stude...

On the afternoon of June 8th, the Closing Ceremony of 2011 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability was successfully held in the International Conference Center in Jiading Campus at Tongji University.
Each panel wrapped up the group findings from the field trip and shared the well-prepared presentation among the participants. On June 6th-7th, Group1 with the theme of Water and Forest made a trip to Chongming Island; Group2 themed in Green Economy to Ningbo; Goup3 focused on Global Mobility and Clean Energy to Hangzhou and Group 4 with the topic of Eco-urbanism and Cultural Heritage to Suzhou.
As one of the most significant outcomes, Global Youth Declaration was announced on the closing ceremony, and received universal approval among students from more than 35 countries worldwide. The Declaration emphasizes that “The Conference at Tongji University was an optimal platform to promote the important role of youth in large-scale decisions. As such, we wish to see conferences of this kind continued on an annual basis” and “This declaration connects to the 2012 Rio+20 Conference”, etc.
Besides, the winners of TOP 9 posters were announced during the closing ceremony. Prof. WU Jiang, Vice President of Tongji University, presented the certificates of first, second and third prize for them. Three international students from Tongji University won the honor, among which Felix Friedmann gained the first prize.
