On Jul. 13, 2012, Bayer-Tongji Chair for Sustainable Development Mid-term Meeting was held in IESD. Mr. Johannes M. Distsch, President of Bayer Group in Greater China, Prof. Jiang WU, Vice President of Tongji University, Dean of IESD, Prof. Fengting LI, Vice Dean of IESD attended the meeting.

Prof. WU on behalf of IESD and Tongji University extended his sincere thanks to Bayer’s consistent support and generous guidance. Besides, Prof. WU shared the significant activities of IESD and meant to seek more cooperative opportunities.

Prof. LI delivered a brief mid-term report of Bayer-Tongji SD Chair in terms of research projects, Chair Professorship activities, and scholarship in the first half of 2012. In addition, Mr. Johannes M. Distsch highly appreciated the impressive report of Bayer-Tongji SD Chair and extended his gratitude to all the professors and staff involved.

What’s more, the Steering Committee discussed altogether three new research proposals in year 2013, with focusing on three sub-topics: Low Carbon Development strategy of Shanghai toward a green economy, Water Resources of China in the context of climate change, Chongming Ecological Agricultural.
