September 27th 2012, Shanghai. The Sino-France Scientific Seminar with the theme of “Water: A Source of Material and Energy” has been successfully held in IESD, Tongji University. As an event of the 2012 Sino-France Science Week, this seminar was held jointly by College of Environmental Science and Engineering, UNEP-Tongji IESD and French universities, providing an academic communication platform for participants.

The seminar reviewed the cooperation between China and France in recent 10 years, and furthered the introduction and discussion on water treatment, membrane technology and many other research subjects in the field of environment science and engineering. Professors and scholars participated in the discussion through academic reports and brain storming, where they reached many progresses on academic communication and further cooperation. On September 29th, scholars from France will be invited to the Bailonggang Sewage Treatment Plant in Pudong District, in order to a more comprehensive and practical understanding on the development of China’s sewage treatment technology.
