During the second and third week of October, IESD was honoured by the visit of two guest professors.

In a four days intensive course, Elizabeth Marion Cheatle gave the Master and Ph.D students an overview about Integrated Environmental Assessment. The students benefited greatly from her long-term working experience in this field. Prof. Cheatle is working for UNEP in Nairobi. Contributing to the preparation of GEO-reports, she is always having up to date in this field.Students were attracted deeply by her inclusive teaching style, and liked discussing with her individually or in groups. Prof. Cheatle also asked students to apply the acquired knowledge by a case-study regarding  environmental issues in their home countries.

From 15th to 19th October, Professor Xia Kunbao offered a seminar about environmental diplomacy and policy. Prof. Xia, who has been actively participated in numerous international conferences about environment and sustainable development, gave an overview about the development of diplomacy in that field. Also, he raised  many valuable insights from his fruitful personal experience.Students found his lectures informative as well as interesting to follow.

Both guest professors received certificates and took a group picture with all the students as a memory of their stay at IESD in Tongji-University.
