From 6th to 9th, 2014, EXCEED (EXCELLENCE CENTER FOR DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION-SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT) Regional Meeting of Asia was held in Tongji University. The participants include Prof. Dockhor, Deputy Head of the Institute of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering in Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany, and other experts from Indonesia, India and Vietnam. Ms Feng Yiping,the Vice Director of Foreign Affairs Office and Wang Xin, Vice Dean of IESD, made a warm welcome speech. Ms Feng and Dr. Wang said that the cooperation with Germany has always been the tradition for Tongji University and academic exchange is good for water resources and the environmental protection. The main topics include the second stage proposal and work plan of EXCEED network in Asia in 2014, including scientific research, student exchange, knowledge transfer and the administration of EXCEED network. EXCEED is funded by German Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD), which includes 36 members coming from Asia, South America, Middle East and so on. Tongji University is the only member in China in Exceed.
Summer school, expert seminar, regional meeting and visiting professorship are annually organized by EXCEED network every year.
