IESD Student Wins Prestigious Academic Award “Green Talents”

      On 27 October 2014, a master candidate for Environmental Science of UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development, Mr. Kennedy Liti Mbeva, recently won Green Talents Award during the Green Talents Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development in Berlin, Germany. The German Federal Minister of Education and Research, Prof. Johanna Wanka, presented the award to Kennedy. 

    The forum also included a two-week visit to top sustainability research institutions in Germany and discussions with top experts in this field.

    The Green Talents Forum is a programme organized by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, with the main objective of promoting international scientific cooperation among leading young scientists from around the world. Being a very competitive programme, Kennedy was among the 25 young scientists (http://www.greentalents.de/awardees.php) chosen from a pool of more than 800 applicants.

     For the second part of the Green Talents programme, Kennedy has been invited for a fully sponsored three-month research stay at an institution of choice in Germany in 2015.
