Xu Jianping, the Deputy Party Secretary of Tongji University attended the closing ceremony. He said: “I hope you, the environment-friendly envoys will shoulder the responsibility of environmental protection, take initiatives in the practice of environmental conservation, play an active role in mobilizing the whole society to build a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society and raise the public’s awareness of promoting ecological civilization so as to make great strides in the course of environmental protection”.

In the awarding ceremony, teachers, cadres of associations, student representatives from 49 colleges and universities as well as representatives of National CEEC, Shanghai CEEC and Tongji University, totally 700 people gathered in 129 Hall, watching a series of stage plays centering on the theme of saving water, sharing their personal understanding on water conservation and environmental protection by enjoying the strong power of art.

The Training for a Thousand Environment-Friendly Envoys was also held in that afternoon. Jiafeng, the Director of CEEC and Li Fengting, the Vice Dean of College of Environmental Sicence and Technology and UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development gave speeches on the subjects of environmental protection and water conservation respectively.
