As one of the sidevents of the 2015 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability, The Workshop on Green City and Sustainable Transportation was held successfully in the Lecuture Room on Floor 10 of Zonghe Building, Tongji University on 4 June, 2015.

This workshop was hosted by UNEP-Tongji IESD, French Consulate-General in Shanghai, I-Trans and SCT and invited Ms. Binglei Jiang from the City Construction Department, Ministry of Housing and Urban Construction of China,  Mr. Daizong Liu from the USA Energy Foundation & China Sustainable Transportation Center, Alexis Jovignot of the I-Trans and Assistant Professor in School of Economics and Management at Tongji University Dr. Haiyun Chen to give topic speeches. The Vice Dean of IESD, Dr. Xin Wang gave the key note speech: Shanghai 2040 city planning and EPI index study on Green City.

The workshop discussed the improvement of Green City and Sustainable Transportation and had a heated discussion. It is looking forward to more cooperation possibility in the future based on mutual interest and possible resource mobilized.

GreenEco-City is a student volunteer organization supported by the UNEP-Tongji IESD focusing on greener environment and culture of the city. By translating  and spreading the latest knowledge of the UNEP publications，and investigating on environment and culture, the volunteers of Tongji University from different majors cooperate with each other to build an exchange and share platform on technology, economy, management and culture of the green city.
