On 11 July, the Workshop on Green Is Gold – Sustainable City Management is held in Tongji University. Mr. Yohannes Fanta, the Ethiopian Consul General of Ethiopia in Shanghai delivered welcome remarks. Tongji Executive Vice President Prof. Wu Jiang made a report on Issues and Challenges of China in Urbanization.

This workshop is co-hosted by UNEP-TONGJI Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development, Addis Ababa City Council, Rivers and Riversides Development Project Office and Addis Ababa University. 13 experts and professors from the Rivers and Riversides Development Project Office and Addis Ababa University attended the workshop.

This workshop is themed on environmental policy, river management, industrial development, green urban planning, water supply and waste water treatment. Reports and on-site visits are arranged, including water supply plant, waste water treatment plant, Zhangjiang Hi-technology park, Suzhou Creek etc.
