With 25 countriesacross six continents, Tongji University and UN Environment-Tongji Institute ofEnvironment for Sustainable Development welcomed 54 young talents to join 2018International Degree Programmes in the discipline of Environmental Science andEngineering, which is the top in China.

Tongji Universityand United Nations Environment Programme initiated the cooperation since 2002and UN Environment-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Developmentwas jointly established in Shanghai. The Institute started Master and DoctoralDegree Programmes from 2006 and there are 459 students from 83 countries whohave been studying in the programmes. The graduates are currently working assenior officials in the governmental departments at national level,international organizations and companies, such as Chinese Ministry of Ecologyand Environment, French Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agricultureand Environment of Serbia, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Ukraine, theMinistry of Environment of Romania, the Ministry of Economy and Trade ofIndonesia, Zimbabwe Ministry of Agriculture, Liberia Ministry of Energy,Ethiopian Ministry of Environment, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UnitedNations High Commissioner for Refugee, Volvo Group, Michelin Group, ChineseAcademy of Science, etc.

Under theguidance of BRI and with the support of Ministry of Commerce, Ministry ofEducation, Ministry of Science and Technology, China Scholarship of Council andUnited Nations Environment Programme, Tongji University would continue tocultivate young talents from the world to promote and strengthen the communicationand cooperation between China and other countries through educational exchange.
