     From 28 October to 3 November 2018, UN Habitat’sexperts including Vincent Kitio from Urban Energy Unit of Urban Basic ServicesBranch, Helen Yu from Urban Planning and Design Lab, Prof. Federico Butera fromPolytechnic University of Milan, and Mr. Fabio Montagnino from Consorzio Arca,as well the research team of Tongji University, has made field visits andinvestigation in Shanghai Research Academy of Environmental Science, ShanghaiResearch Institute of Building Science, Chongming Island, City of Zhoushan andLiyang, on zero net carbon town planning and construction. The project on Integrated technology and demonstration ofChongming zero net carbon town, supported by the Shanghai Science andTechnology Commission, will be jointly implemented by Tongji University, UNHabitat, Shanghai Research Academy of Environmental Science and ShanghaiResearch Institute of Building Science. As one of the outcomes, the guidelineon zero net carbon town is planned to be released during the UNEA-4 in March2019.
