 Objectives

This workshop aims to share China's novelexperiences in the development of green cities with African countries so as topromote mutual cooperation and a learning platform in fields of Urban Planning,Environmental management and Infrastructure development

Aboutthe Programme

Courses and casestudies will include United Nations Sustainable Cities Programme, SustainableCities Indicator System, Shanghai Urban Planning Cases, Urban Water EnvironmentManagement and Planning, Industrial Planning in Shanghai, Built Ecology andGreen Building, Chongming Eco-island development as well as on-site visits toShanghai Urban Planning Museum, Zhangjiang High Technology Park, ChongmingIsland, Yixing Environmental Protection Industrial Park, etc.

 

Aboutthe Workshop

Language of Instruction: English

RecruitmentTarget

Youngprofessionals from African countries working in the field of Urban Planning, Environment,Agriculture, Land Planning, etc.

Qualification

1.  Trainees from developing countriesparticularly Africa, recommended by their respective ministries, localgovernment or nationally recognized non-governmental organizations.

2.  No more than 45 years old (with a fewexceptions), possessing a bachelor’s degree, it’s equivalent, or above;

3.  In good health, both physically and mentally,able to undergo the training with no complications;

4.  Good working knowledge of written and spokenEnglish;

5.  Be familiar with the country's green cityplanning and environmental status and provide a report on sustainabledevelopment in the country

6.  Personnel who work or study in China will notbe allowed to attend the workshop. Attendee’s family members’ expenses are notcovered and thus will not be permitted to attend the workshop.

7.  Trainees must abide by the laws of thePeople’s Republic of China, and respect the manners and customs of Chinesepeople during their stay.

8.  Trainees must return to their respective countriesat the end of the training workshop;

FundCoverage

a)    The organizer is responsible for thetraining, accommodation, meals and local transportation during the traineesstay in China.

b)    International round-trip costs between thetrainee’s country, training base and airport transfer fees are self funded .During the training period, the trainees shall be responsible for theirdomestic and international long-distance telephone charges, overweight baggagefees and domestic wages.
