VCCCAR 2012 Visiting Research Fellow

Background

The Victorian Centre for Climate Change Adaptation Research (VCCCAR) was established to improve
State Government decision‐making on the likely impacts of climate change, to evaluate adaptation
options, to contribute to the building of regional adaptive capacity, and to facilitate the integration of
climate change considerations across Government policy and strategic planning.
A core element of the Centre’s activities is a visiting fellowship programme. This initiative aims to attract
outstanding scholars and academics that can make a significant contribution to the Centre’s research
agenda and actively promote international research initiatives with their home institution.
One fellowship is offered each year. Successful applicants would be expected to reside in Australia for
approximately three months to undertake the fellowship. Up to A$40,000 is available to support each
fellowship, including travel, living expenses or contribution to salary. There may be opportunities to
further extend the fellowship in association with other organisations.
Ideally, the fellow would be in place for 2‐6 months between July and December 2012.

change adaptation in decision making;
Identify and develop ongoing collaborative research activities between the Centre partners and their
