Welcome to 2012 ISCES!!

UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development (IESD) is happy to announce that the 2012 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability (ISCES) will be held at Tongji University, Shanghai, China, on June 5-8, 2012.

2012 ISCES

2012 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability, which takes place from the 5th to 8th of June, 2012 in Shanghai, is an annual conference with the aim of promoting the importance of youth participation in large-scale decisions. The event will be a space for enthusiastic students to share experiences and solutions related to environmental sustainable development issues.

Last year, nearly 400 students worldwide joined the 2011 ISCES, where the Global Youth Tongji Declaration on Environment and Sustainability was composed and released about the conference. In 2012, the conference will continue to provide a platform for engaged students across the globe, who will be future policy makers, managers, and scientists. Together, students will share creative ideas, make friends, and discuss the opportunities and challenges that the world is facing and continues to face in environment and sustainable development. The 4-day conference will be filled with various activities, including keynote speeches, field visits, parallel group workshops, and a poster contest. In addition, 2012 ISCES will continue to link with the UN Touth Conference, which will be held during the same week, as a special contribution toward Rio+20.
