The 5th World Student Environmental Summit (WSES) will be held in September 5th to 8th, 2012, at the University of Lausanne (UNIL). The general concept for the upcoming summit is “Change”. “Our goal is less to discuss global and theoretical issues than to look at the direct and practical obstacles to change”, says organizing committee member ,“We want to talk, provide, exchange practical examples of what the individual, the student can do; what the community can do; what the students can do together. My hope is that we`ll be able to build together and share tools and methods for change.”

LI Yuehan and GUO Wenrui, the two students from the department of Environment Science and Engineering own excellent English abilities and unique insights on sustainable development. The experiences of volunteers in IESD make them have the sense of responsibility and team-work. They passed the preliminary test of Tongji University and came to the fore in the re-examination organized by organizers. The two students were selected as delegates to represent Tongji University at the summit.
