Tongji students have the unique opportunity to qualify for an expenses-covered participation in the world’s premier conference for intergenerational dialogue, the St. Gallen Symposium, namely through the student essay competition for the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award.
Each year, the essay competition offers graduate and postgraduate students from all fields of study the unique opportunity to participate as “Leader of Tomorrow” at the St. Gallen Symposium, in company of 600 entrepreneurs, top managers, politicians and scientists from more than 60 nations. Next year’s student competitors are invited to submit their thoughts and visions to the topic “Rewarding Courage”. Closing date is 1 February 2013.
The 43rd St. Gallen Symposium will take place from 30 April to 3 May 2013 at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. In recent years, the university invited renowned speakers such as Robert Dudley, Group Chief Executive Officer BP, Professor Niall Ferguson, Professor of History at Harvard University, Christine Lagarde, International Monetary Fund and Jean-Claude Trichet, former President of the European Central Bank.
There’ll be 100 students qualify for the symposium among all the applicants and receive:
- Free participation as “Leader of Tomorrow” in the 43rd St. Gallen Symposium
- Expenses covered for flight, board and lodging
- Meet 600 distinguished entrepreneurs, top managers, politicians and scientists from more than 60 nations
- Meet 200 exceptional students and young talents from all over the world
- Chance to win the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award, endowed with EUR 20’000.–, including a speech in front of the plenum
