Call for Application as Research Fellows within the Exceed Guest Chair Team

With the scope of Exceed project an International Guest Chair Team will be established in the summer term 2013 at TU Braunschweig. The research project will be chaired by the Guest Professor, Dra. María delCarmen Hernández Rendón from México. The scholarships for guest chair team members as well as the research work will start as soon as possible and end March 31, 2014. The research work will be conducted according to the following topic:
“Integrated Modeling Approach for Sustainable Groundwater Resources Management in Mega Cities: Case Studies of different Metropolitan Aquifers”.

The team members are asked to publish their research outcomes under the supervision of the Guest Chair Professor and jointly submit their papers with her to peer-reviewed international journals. After having returned to their home institutions the team members will continue working jointly with each other and the Guest Chair Professor in order to sustain the cooperation within the Exceed network.

Research fields and requirements for the prospective team

Research fields

The research team should work on the following research fields: a) integrated groundwater modeling with geographic information systems, b) spatial analysis and geographic information systems for hydrogeological evaluation, or c) integrating socioeconomic and hydrogeological aspects for water resources management.
Requirements
Candidates should submit a research proposal in any of these fields. The proposal should be related to the current and/or future work of the applicant. This must be specified in the introduction. Besides, the statement should clearly describe the objectives, the methodology, the activities, the expected results, and likely a study case for a metropolitan aquifer.
