Professor Marion E. Cheatle, former Deputy Director of Division of Early Warning and Assessment, UNEP, will give lectures on Environmental System and Sustainable Development from 21 Oct. to 26 Oct. in Classroom 505, Mingjing Blg., Tongji University. She will provide us an overview of the global environmental situation, a clear relationship between environmental factors and development issues and an understanding of the meaning of sustainable development.

Prof. Marion E. Cheatle is a specialist in environmental assessment, monitoring and reporting, and she has played a key role in establishment of the global participatory assessment process, capacity building of collaborating institutions, and coordination of UNEP’s contributions to the World Resources Report. She has also contributed immensely to the planning and establishment of the Global Terrestrial Observing System (GTOS), in collaboration with partner organizations and development of assessment frameworks, methodologies and tools.
