Master of Science degree in Environmental Sciences

This graduate program provides students an advanced knowledge of the laws and interactions governing the evolution of our natural environment, in order to prepare them for a successful career in academia or industry.

The program extents on two years, direct admission to the second year is possible for suitably qualified students.

Each year concludes with a several months long internship in a research laboratory in France or abroad. These internships give the students an opportunity to carry out advanced research projects in a stimulating environment.

First year courses are mostly taught in French. All second-year courses are taught in English.

The first year program entitled ³Sciences for Environmental Challenges² is organized around three main and interacting facets of the environment, among which each student may define his/her personal curriculum, these facets are:
Biodiversity and Ecology
Geophysical Environment
Environmental Economy and Management

The second year program entitled ³Water, Air, Pollution and Energy at local and regional scales (WAPE)² is widely based on the research and tutorial resources of the Institut Pierre Simon Laplace (IPSL). The WAPE program covers a broad spectrum of environmental problems with a focus on the meso scales of atmospheric and oceanic environments.

WAPE is a member of the Climate-KIC program of the European Union (Knowledge and Innovation Community in Climate), which offers several possibilities to develop technologies and innovations in assessing climate change and managing its drivers.
