 —Lei Hao, Deputy Director, Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce and his delegation visited Tongji University.

On July 13, 2023, Mr. Lei Hao, Deputy Director, Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce, had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Lv Peiming, Executive Vice President of Tongji University.

Also present at the meeting were: Du Zhaojun, Director of Project Management Division 1 of the Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce; Huang Yuning, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce; Fan Wenyi, Manager of the Project Management Division 2; Chen Yili, Director of the International Students Office of Tongji University; Li Jing, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office ; Lu Lijun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University, Wang Ying, Vice Dean of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University, Deputy Dean of the UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development; Li Fengting, Academician of the African Academy of Sciences and Professor of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, and Wu Bing, Professor of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering.

Lv Peiming, Executive Vice President of Tongji University, firstly expressed his warm welcome to Lei Hao, Deputy Director, Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce, and his delegation. He introduced the history of Tongji University and the development course of the project of the Ministry of Commerce and hoped to continue to strengthen cooperation with the Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce in the future, to cultivate and convey talents for the international community and to truly help the whole world. Lei Hao, Deputy Director of the Academy for International Business Offcial, Ministry of Commerce, fully affirmed the important position of Tongji University in the national foreign aid training work and the great achievements made in the cause of schooling and educating people, and pointed out that the mission of foreign aid work lies in the following: to post human resources for the country and to tell the world about China. In the future, foreign aid work should continue to strengthen the quality control of the whole process and consolidate the second half of foreign aid work. Then Chen Yili, Director of International Students Office of Tongji University, and Jia Qian, Director of UNEP-Tongji University Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development (IESD) Office, introduced the current cultivation situation of international students and the work of IESD foreign aid degree program respectively.

After the bilateral talks, the two sides jointly awarded certificates to the graduates of the 2020 class of the Ministry of Commerce's foreign aid degree program.

Tongji University has been hosting the Ministry of Commerce's Foreign Aid Degree Program (International Master's Degree Program in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development) since 2015, and has enrolled a total of 255 government and business officials from 55 recipient countries over the past eight years. Over the years, the College has always been committed to establishing an advanced international education model to cultivate high-level and complex technical and managerial talents in the field of environment and sustainable development for the region and the world, especially for the Belt and Road countries. The Foreign Aid Degree Program of the Ministry of Commerce of Tongji University will further improve its political position, strengthen the construction of talent team, actively serve the national diplomatic strategy, and complete the foreign aid work in an all-round way with high quality.
