On behalf of the East-West Center and the ProSPER.Net Secretariat at the United Nations University
Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS), we would like to invite your institution to participate in the
2013 ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme, to be held at the East-West Center in Hawaii from 16 to
24 November 2013.
The Leadership Programme provides opportunities for participants to develop inter-disciplinary skills
to lead sustainable development initiatives appropriate to local, regional or global contexts. Through
‘Combining Collaboration, Expertise and Leadership for Sustainable Development’, the tentative
programme (Attachment 1) outlines the ways in which participants will have an opportunity to gain
skills in communication and consensual decision-making processes, gain competencies in adaptive
leadership, and learn about team project development through problem-based learning cases in the
community.
Resources have been committed to provide support for selected participants, who will benefit from
exposure to a wide range of expertise from the East-West Center and ProSPER.Net community. We
also encourage all members and partners to consider supporting the participation of applicants from
your institute.
