On the afternoon of June 8th, the Closing Ceremony of 2012 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability was successfully held in the International Conference Center in Siping Campus at Tongji University.

Each panel wrapped up the group findings from the field trip and shared the well-prepared presentation among the participants. In addition, as one of the most significant outcomes, Tongji-Global Youth Declaration was announced on the closing ceremony, and received universal approval among students from more than 42 countries worldwide. The Declaration emphasizes that “We believe that our individual choices and behaviours in certain sectors of energy, transportation, agriculture, forestry, water and tourism would contribute possitively to the challenges that lie ahead in transitioning the brown economies towards green economies while mitigating and adapting to climate change through principles of efficient resource use and social equity.”, etc.

Besides, the winners of TOP 9 posters were announced during the closing ceremony. Prof. WU Jiang, Vice President of Tongji University, presented the certificates of first, second and third prizes for them. Two international students from Tongji University won the honor.
