UNFCCC Calls for Good Practice of Actions for Climate Empowerment
Published:02/06/2020

Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is calling for good practice examples from higher education and NGOs of the following six ACE components relating to climate change: education, training, public awareness, public access to information, public participation, and international cooperation. (See the category descriptions in the attachment for a more complete description of these components.)*

This request came to the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), a partnership between multiple UN agencies and higher education institutions and networks for sustainability, providing higher education networks and institutions with a unique interface between higher education, science, and policy making.

In response to this request,  you are invited to fill out a description and submission form with examples from your region and/or send to members of your network to ask them to share some of their good practice examples. Most interested examples are those have resources to share and/or examples that could be replicated in other countries. They can be just about higher education initiatives or about higher education partnerships with other stakeholder groups (e.g. NGOs, business) aimed at Actions for Climate Empowerment.

The deadline for responses is June 15th. Please send two selections for each category to unenvironment-yea@un.org
